Humanitarian Operations Reports

In the period November 2012 to November 2013, INS provided relief to an estimated 500,000 persons with a spend of $USD 5,067,028.

In the period April 2013 to November 2013, INS provided relief to 222,099 persons in need of assistance directly spending $USD 2,074,308. INS provided emergency healthcare, medicine, food, clothing, shelter and cash assistance to persons in need inside the country. 98% of the relief provided in this period was provided inside Syria through a broad network of local channels. INS brought assistance to persons in areas under control of opposition groups and in areas under Syrian government control including areas of the country such as Western and Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside where Syrian government forces have beseiged the local populations since summer 2012.

INS distributed assistance inside Syria through more than 40 local channels. Among the more prominent of these local channels are the Local Coordination Committees, Najda Now, Soriyat, Kesh Malek, Maan, Muwatana, Nabd, the Syrian League for Citizenship, the General Commission of Civil Defense in Deraa as well as nascent local councils of Aleppo, Barzeh, Douma, Qusayr and Tel Abiad.

April 2013 - November 2013

In the period November 2012 to March 2013, INS spent a total of $USD 2,992,720 on humanitarian projects.

In the period January to March 2013, INS financed 39 projects spending a total of $USD 1,938,631, assisting approximately 280,000 persons. These funds have provided emergency healthcare, medicines, food, shelter, clothing, education and cash assistance to persons in need across all regions of Syria, provided financing to start up self-sufficient micro projects and supported the survival of a rich emerging civil society.

Notably, INS has worked in this period with the nascent local councils in Qusayr (Homs), Barzeh (Damascus) and Douma (Damascus Countryside) and with prominent civil society organisations including the Local Coordination Committees (LCCs), the General Commission of Civil Defense in Deraa, Najda Now, SoriyatSANAD (Syrian Women for the Syrian Intifada), Muwatana, Amouda Charity, Life4Syria, Chams Collectif Syrie, Aleppo Medical Council, Free Medical Association in Aleppo and the Syrian Revolution Medical Commission.

January- March 2013

 

To end December 2012, INS financed 29 humanitarian projects spending a total of $USD 1,054,089. These funds have provided emergency healthcare, medicines, food, clothing, blankets and cash assistance to people in need across all regions of Syria. A number of INS humanitarian projects have the potential to develop forms of self-support for people in need.
